CELO, global industrial fasteners and screw manufacturer
At CELO, we are committed to contributing to the slowdown of climate change and building a better planet for the next generations. In order to reduce carbon emissions, we have installed solar panels at our factories in Spain and China.
Production Plant in Spain
Solar panels have been installed to supply electricity to our factory, with a maximum capacity of energy production for self-consumptions 457,68 MWh/year. These Solar panels reduce 182,16 tons of CO2 emissions per year, equivalent to planting 15,18 hectares of trees. Please refer to the details of these solar panels in the Strategic Plan document.
Headquarters
Solar panels have been installed to supply the electricity to the headquarters, with a maximum capacity of energy production for self-consumptions 53.81 MWh/year. These solar panels reduce 24 tons of CO2 emissions per year, equivalent to planting 9 hectares of trees or covering 13 football fields.
Projects included in the incentive program linked to self-consumption and storage, with renewable energy sources within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGeneration EU.
China Production Plant
Solar panels have been installed at our Chinese plant to provide electricity for our factory. These solar panels have a maximum energy production capacity for self-consumption of 950 MWh/year, resulting in a reduction of 378 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
We are proud to be part of the renewable energy revolution and will continue to contribute to fight against climate change.Â
CELO has been granted registration in the carbon footprint, offsetting, and CO2 removal registry by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.Â
This certification is applicable to organizations actively engaged in calculating their carbon footprint and developing reduction plans.
We prioritize sustainability by using phosphate-free wire as the standard raw material across our entire product range, reducing CO2 emissions by 83 kg per ton of wire.
This approach also significantly lowers environmental impact by eliminating phosphate sludge, preventing wastewater contamination from nitrates and heavy metals, minimizing oil contamination, and reducing both discharge and polluting waste.
