For over 14 years, CELO has been using phosphate-free wire for screw production. Since 2010, we have been collaborating with a wire drawing supplier in the Catalonia Region. Â
After extensive tests, modifications and communications with the supplier, we were pioneers in successfully homologating the phosphate-free cold-forming wire and using it as a standard raw material for the entire product range, which includes all variants of the TAPTITE®, REMFORM® and FASTITE® 2000™ screws.
This phosphate-free wire offers numerous benefits to the environment, our customers and CELO as a manufacturer including:
Environmental benefits:
Reduced of CO2 emissions, saving 83kg of CO2 per ton of wire.
Benefits for our customers:
Elimination of the risk of the appearance of the delta ferrite phase in the quenched and tempered bolts.
